LOS ANGELES, CA — November 25, 2025 —
From Refugee to Success Catalyst: Turning Struggles into Legacy has been released on Amazon, offering a chronological record of the early life, academic path, and long-term professional activities of Dr. Emily Letran. The book compiles verifiable details from multiple stages of her personal and clinical development, beginning with her childhood departure from Vietnam and continuing through her educational training and work in dentistry.
The publication outlines Letran’s transition through refugee processing centers, her arrival in the United States, and her early academic achievements. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Riverside, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa, before earning both her Doctor of Dental Surgery and Master of Science in Oral Biology from the UCLA School of Dentistry. The release of the book documents these milestones in a direct, chronological sequence designed to present the academic steps involved.
The foreword by author and consultant Dan S. Kennedy highlights the factual progression of responsibilities, obligations, and professional choices that influenced Letran’s career direction. Kennedy notes that the book presents “a structured record of experiences and decisions contributing to her development across several decades.”
Commentary also appears from author and financial literacy advocate Sharon Lechter, who stated that the publication “offers a detailed account of the challenges, expectations, and documented accomplishments relevant to anyone examining a structured professional pathway.”
Dr. Edward Zuckerberg, who contributed an endorsement, observed that the work “provides important context for understanding her clinical activities, community involvement, and engagement with educational programs.”
The book references Letran’s participation in dental practice management, nonprofit program development, and community-based outreach initiatives. Included within the publication are supplemental tools such as the “90-Day Legacy Plan” and the “Presence Policy,” described as optional planning documents for readers interested in personal organization or activity tracking.
Future work referenced in the release includes the development of a 2026 speaking schedule and the planned launch of a companion podcast titled Legacy in Action. The podcast will feature interviews and discussions with professionals across multiple fields, with a focus on verifiable achievements, public service, and long-term professional development.
“This book represents a factual timeline of events and the influence of mentors, colleagues, and community roles throughout my life,” Dr. Letran said.
